AWC members participate in of a wide variety of day trips, evening performances, and other special events. Many attendees also get a bite to eat or take a brief shopping excursion during the outings. Public transportation or ride sharing are arranged as necessary.
Member Appreciation Dinner - The AWC hosts a luncheon for the general membership in appreciation of the hard work that the members provide throughout the year. Awards and entertainment are presented for all to enjoy.
Annual AWC Witches’ Luncheon - Members drag out their ratty brooms and tattered clothes to see who can be the best witch. From the photos alone, it’s clear everyone really gets into the spirit of the holiday!
December Holiday Luncheon - The most elegant special event on the AWC calendar of activities includes a fabulous meal, musical entertainment, and usually a Chinese raffle. Members enjoy donning outfits that are more festive for this event.
AWC Monthly General Meetings - Held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Dove Library in Carlsbad, these meetings are open to non-members. Each meeting features a guest speaker who discusses a subject of interest to our members, from health issues, to flower arranging, Scripps Aquarium, Batiquitos Lagoon, personal finances, and a host of other topics.
